The gifts above are all available from Coes. First is the Gentleman’s Hardware Buff & Shine shoe shine kit. At £15 it’s a really nice stocking filler to keep his shoes in tip top condition. Next to that is the Secrid card wallet which you’ll see more of in one of the videos below. At £50 I’m a real fan of this modern take on the traditional wallet.  To the right of the wallet is the CHPO Harrold Watch with tan leather strap. It’s a very classic design and will suit most guys. Lastly are some great fur lined gloves by Dents, again there’s more on those in the video.

Mini Me with Next Suiting

Craig of That Dapper Chap shows us suiting by Next in this ‘Mini Me’ Fathers Day blog post

Fathers Day, that one day every year where you get to do nothing! breakfast in bed, coffee on demand and full control of the TV remote control (if you’re lucky)

People tell me that my Son and I look alike, we have no real idea where his red hair comes from, maybe it’s the Irish heritage, but in a lot of ways, especially our humour, our tendency to be a little grumpy in the mornings, and our style, we’re very much alike. The acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree.

For this Fathers day ‘Mini Me’ post Harry chose a blue linen suit from Next, also available in grey the suit has a two-button fastening with single back vent and AMF stitch detail on lapel and pockets. The suit is £150. £100 for the jacket and £50 for the trousers.

A fan of a pin collar shirt, he stayed classic white and chose this single cuff, 100% cotton shirt in a slim fit. Priced at £22 the shirt is also available if a regular fit for gents who prefer a little extra room for manoeuvre.

Harry’s shoes are the navy suede toe cap Oxfords. Priced at £55 they are also available in tan.

I currently have a passion for double breasted blazers so chose the light chambray cotton suit. The suit Double-breasted jacket with peak lapel and twin back vents and is 100% Cotton.

This suit comes with a variety of mix and match components. It’s also available in a single breasted jacket, a waistcoat, and even shorts, perfect for a summer wedding. My suits sits at £110.

My shirt is a 100% cotton button down collar shirt and like Harry’s it’s available in both slim and regular fits.  This shirt is priced at £22.

My shoes are the signature tassel loafers in black. Priced at £80, they are also available in stone suede which are a great alternative option.

What I Wore Today #52

Craig of That Dapper Chap shares what he wore today and features a traditional brown check wool suit from Next.

Being a typical Brit, the weather is one of those subjects that instantly springs to mind. Living in a country where we can ‘enjoy’ all four seasons in one day (and that is not an exaggeration) it’s a subject that’s close to our hearts. So, in my typical Brit fashion I’ll start with a note on the weather!

I remember only a few short years ago that I got sunburned in April, this year it’s fair to say that temperatures are less than usually seasonal, hence me reaching for a wool three piece suit!

While this suit is now out of stock, and while the stores are now cramming racks and shelving with summer fabrics and colours, this suit is a bit of a favourite of mine so I wanted to share it with you.

From Next, it’s a slim fit design in a chocolate brown. It’s traditional in that it’s a three piece suit and comes with a collared waistcoat, but the pale blue and orange wide check that runs through the fabric makes it more contemporary and adds more interest.

As loyal readers of my blog will know I’m a champion of splitting up a three piece suit and I have worn the jacket with  chinos and brogues, and I’ve also worn the waistcoat with a Granddad collar shirt and jeans. Likewise, the trousers could easily be dressed down with a T-shirt, trainers and a bomber jacket for a very modern twist.

Jeans – Next – £40.00

Harris Tween Waistcoat – Next – 185.00

Tan Leather Brogues – Next – 30.00

Brown Tweed Trousers – ASOS – 60.00

White Suede Mix Trainers – Next – 30.00

Green Quilted Bomber Jacket – Next – 65.00

White Polo Shirt – Next – £18.00

For my look I chose brown suede desert boots and finished with a floral tie which pulled colours from the suit. So, while this post may not be immediately seasonal for those outside of the UK, it offers some thoughts for the later seasons. With brands already holding Autumn/Winter press days it won’t be long before we’re seeing heavier tweed and wool fabrics back in stores and online, so you have a head start for end of year styling!
