Wearing the tan double breasted suit from Next

It is said that a well tailored suit to a woman is what lingerie is to a man. That said why would you not have a few in your wardrobe to choose from? This tan double breasted suit from Next fits the bill, and makes a change to the standard black and navy.

I accented the suit with orange in the tie, socks and loafers

I originally saw this suit at one of the Next press events, when press people and bloggers like myself get a preview of items for the forthcoming season. I loved it then but had to wait until it was available before I bought it.

Styling the suit with a classic white cotton shirt

If I wanted a modern casual look, I could have styled this suit with a plain T-shirt or a roll neck sweater and some white trainers. But for this post I decided to go full on classic.

The tan colour is a little different to the standard navy and black

With a classic white cotton shirt and an orange patterned tie I maintained the colour palette and chose orange socks to add some colour and interest, and some tan loafers.

The felt fedora adds a touch of class and vintage style

The beige felt fedora hat adds another dimension of style, and elevates the look to something much more sartorial. It affords a slightly vintage feel and conjours thoughts of the 1940’s, an era of impeccable style.

I always look odd in double breasted suit jackets, well more of a personal thing I’m sure, just never feels comfortable.

Hi Tom, thanks for your comment. I’m sure you look just fine in double breasted jacket! But if you don’t feel confident in one the stick to what makes you feel good. It’s important to feel happy in what you’re wearing!
